Who is the DWSC?

The Ðoctor Who Society has been connecting with the convention community almost 15 years.
We aim to celebrate the love of British television's Ðoctor Who while transforming this passion into supporting our local communities.
Through experiences & connections, we hope to inspire individuals to appreciate the value of connectivity, inclusiveness & support networks.
ABOUT THE ÐWSC
The Ðoctor Who Society of Canada is a social network for Whovians of all ages. Our community's focus is on social interaction, intelligent exchange & commonality.
The Ðoctor Who Society of Canada (ÐWSC) grew out of the 2011 Toronto Fan Expo, which proved to have such a huge local & national concentration of enthusiastic Whovians that it sparked the formation of our social community on Facebook. The overall response to that Facebook group & calls for more/larger events inspired the founding of the ÐWSC.
WHAT ÐOES THE ÐWSC ÐO?
The ÐWSC is foremost a social network for Canadian Whovians, where anyone can enjoy meeting fellow Ðoctor Who fans & amongst other things, discuss the finer points of the program which has become a worldwide phenomenon.
The ÐWSC as a social group has held gatherings, which have included cosplay events, movie screenings, pub nights & social trips.
The ÐWSC is also focused on raising funds in support of Children's Hospitals through our displays at Fan & Comic Conventions.
WHERE ÐOES THE ÐWSC OPERATE?
Our Administrative Committee is based in the Greater Toronto, Ottawa, Gatineau, Guelph & Kitchener/Waterloo areas.
Each Chapter is led by a Chapter Coordinator from within the community it serves & a Chapter Rep from within the ÐWSC Co-ordinating Committee.

CAN I JOIN THE ÐWSC?
Membership in the ÐWSC is not mandatory but our events & fundraising efforts cannot take place without your support!
Membership is open to any person regardless of gender, sexual orientation/identity, race, national origin or religion.
We are currently working to improve our Membership Program, please check back for updates!
* We will issue carÐs for membership registrations unÐer the age of 13 without a Ðonation when requesteÐ
** The Ðoctor Who Society of CanaÐa is not yet a registereÐ charity. Any receipt issueÐ for a Membership Ðonation is not valiÐ for Income Tax Purposes.
